About Me

Hi.  Welcome to my little space on the internet.  My name is Mabel and I created this site to share with you my journey to learning and self-discovery in baking, cooking, and many other things I love about food. I don’t exactly remember when my love affair for baking started.  Although, I do remember buying my first handheld mixer (which, by the way, still works perfectly given the strain I’ve put on it) and making simple cakes and cookies for family and friends. 

When we lived in Barcelona, Spain, I would wake up every day to the smell of freshly made croissants being cooked in the bakery just downstairs.  I loved Sunday mornings because we would wake up to the smell of freshly cooked bread, churros and roasted chestnuts. Even today, writing and thinking about those mornings still bring pleasant memories of the scent of comforting, warm, freshly baked buttery bread. So, this site is inspired not only by my love for baking but also by the wonderful experiences associated with it.
